The Final Putt


This memorable image of Arnold Palmer sinking his final putt on the 18th hole at the 1964 Masters was personally chosen by Mr. Palmer from a number of the golf legend's career highlights. It was created by renowned American sports artist Bill Purdom.

With a winning score of 276
(12 under par) and the second lowest score ever posted in tournament history at that time, Mr. Palmer became the first four-time Masters Champion. With rounds of 69, 68, 69, 70 he won the tournament by six strokes over Jack Nicklaus and Dave Marr, calling it his "greatest triumph".

This victory was Mr. Palmer's seventh major professional title during an illustrious career that has made him an international sporting icon.
